President Biden issued a challenge to Trump for two debates via social media on Wednesday morning, a proposition that Trump promptly accepted. The first of these debates is slated for June 27, to be broadcast on CNN.
Behar, however, seemed perplexed by the arrangement, initially suggesting that the lack of an audience for the debate might provide Trump with an excuse to back out. Her co-hosts promptly corrected her, noting that Trump had already agreed to the terms.
"We'll see when it comes time," Behar responded.
In the course of the discussion, Behar lauded Biden's political experience and statesmanship, contrasting it with what she described as Trump's clownish behavior.

"It's like you have Bozo the Clown on one side and you've got a statesman on the other who has had years under his belt of being in the Senate. He knows what he's talking about," Behar stated.

Later in the conversation, Behar returned to the topic of the audience-free debate, suggesting that Trump would attempt to fill the crowd with his supporters. Once again, her co-hosts corrected her, reiterating that both parties had agreed to a debate without an audience.

"He's going to stack the audience with Trumpers like he did at that town hall on CNN," Behar claimed.
Upon being corrected, Behar conceded, "Wait a minute, I misunderstood."
Despite this, she reiterated her doubts about Trump's commitment to the debate, labeling him a "liar." Co-host Whoopi Goldberg echoed Behar's sentiments to some extent, referring to Trump as a "backer outer," but predicted an unpredictable performance from Trump at the debates.

"I know that, but I don't think he's going to go for it," Behar told Goldberg in reference to the audience-free format.
As her co-hosts once again confirmed that the terms had been agreed upon, Behar exclaimed, "I don't believe him!"
"I know what I was saying," she added.
Shortly after the segment, it was announced that Trump and Biden had agreed to a second debate, scheduled for September and to be aired on ABC.
