To reduce the chance of contracting monkeypox, which usually manifests in lesions or bumps on the genitals, anus, and face, the CDC recommends taking precautions like limiting your amount of sex partners, masturbating while social distancing from your partner, having virtual sex, having sex with your clothes on, wearing leather or latex gear while having sex, and washing your "fetish gear."

The CDC further stressed that "spaces like back rooms, saunas, sex clubs, or private and public sex parties, where intimate, often anonymous sexual contact with multiple partners occurs—are more likely to spread monkeypox."
Further proposed was making sure you catch the name of the person you've engaged in sexual activity with. "Make a habit of exchanging contact information with any new partner to allow for sexual health follow-up," the CDC suggests.
