America's Finest: AOC Accuses Matt Gaetz Of Wearing Cheap Suits In A Tweet, His Response Is Priceless

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez called Rep. Matt Gaetz a “bad haircut in a cheap suit” after the Florida Republican proposed that Rep. Jamie Raskin’s son’s death by suicide made the congressman upset and unfit to serve.

“What I worry about for the Congress and for Jamie Raskin - no one would ever want to lose a child - particularly to suicide. As a human being our hearts go out to him but I think that he takes that trauma and he associates it now with his work in Congress,” Gaetz announced on Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s podcast, MTG Live.

Gaetz stated of Raskin, a Maryland Democrat, and member of the House January 6 Committee: “He’s unable to do the sort of congressional experience outside of the dungeon of that personal trauma.”

Raskin’s son Tommy Raskin died by suicide at 25 on New Year’s Eve 2021 after a bout with depression.

“[Raskin] is a greater statesman, Congressman, human being than most of us. History will remember him. Tommy was a remarkable person and a testament of his parents’ love. Gaetz is a bad haircut in a cheap suit, a feat of mediocrity given that he’s here on papa’s money. Bye,” Ocasio-Cortez announced on Twitter.

After Tommy’s death, Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., declared she would be going vegetarian for lent to honor the outspoken vegan and animal rights activist.

“I think it makes him look at everything, and he's very like dark in severe ways,” Gaetz said.

Gaetz announced that he and Greene came to Congress to “uplift,” while Raskin was there out of a sense of “grievance or hatred.”

“We come to the job, and we're here to uplift people. We love this country, we’re not here out of a sense of grievance or hatred. We love America.”

“It’s really like his service in the congress is almost become inextricably attached to this sad personal trauma he’s had and I think it does cloud his judgment, and we could see that,” Gaetz went on.

“The country shouldn’t have to go through all that with him,” Gaetz summed.

Greene held back from going after Raskin for his son’s death. “It’s a horrible thing what he went through, but that doesn’t change the fact of his political beliefs, and I believe he’s a communist,’ she stated.

Different Democrats sounded off about the clip too.

“Repulsive,” Rep. Mary Gay Scanlon, D-Pa., wrote on Twitter. “It’s particularly rich to see two people who have no sense of their own roles and responsibilities as members of Congress badmouth @RepRaskin— a true patriot and public servant. @GOPLeader will you defend this too? Or just pretend you haven’t seen the clip?” she continued, tagging Leader Kevin McCarthy.
