Devin Nunes, the congressman who left office to become the CEO of the Trump Media & Technology Group, suggested the government as the most significant threat to freedom of speech now that "Big Tech tyrants" can’t silence people's voices.
"I think it’s so Orwellian, so dystopian, something you only see in dictatorships that now, they’re going to set up some type of disinformation board. I think that’s a direct attack on what we are doing at Truth Social, because we can no longer be canceled," Nunes told Maria Bartiromo on her Fox News show Sunday Morning Futures.

The Disinformation Governance Board, which was published last week, is part of the Homeland Security Department. Nina Jankowicz, selected to be its chief, has been slammed for her promotion of Christopher Steele's discredited anti-Trump dossier and dismissing concerns around Hunter Biden and his laptop. Republicans have criticized the board, comparing it to the Ministry of Truth in George Orwell's book 1984.

"The board does not have any operational authority or capability," Mayorkas said Sunday on CNN's State of the Union. "What it will do is gather together best practices in addressing the threat of disinformation from foreign state adversaries, from the cartels, and disseminate those best practices to the operators that have been executing in addressing this threat for years."

"I’M BACK! #COFFEE," Trump posted on TRUTH Social Thursday afternoon with a photo of himself in front of his Mar-a-Lago property in Palm Beach, Florida.
The hashtag "coffee" was referring to one of his deleted tweets in 2017 in which he decried the media’s coverage of his administration.
