While the Biden Administration has made clear the U.S. will not fight in Ukraine, opting instead to assist in the form of arms to the Ukrainians, Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., still argues this is excessive. This is why her GOP opponent is making waves in her district and just hit the mark with a new campaign ad that is resonating with Omar's constituents.

In a Tuesday morning Twitter post, the America-hating congresswoman from Minnesota argued it would be difficult to know where American weapons might end up. Omar has been against almost anything the U.S. has done militarily, which is why a woman who looks like her but sounds like someone who loves America is beginning to make waves and is now threatening Omar in polls. Shukri Abdurahman is a Somali-American who served for ten years in the U.S. armed forces and her story is inspiring (see below).

Omar said of the aid America is sending to Ukraine that, “the consequences of flooding Ukraine with billion dollars in [American] weapons, likely not limited to just military-specific equipment but also including small arms + ammo, are unpredictable & likely disastrous,” Omar stated. “Specially when they are given to paramilitary groups w/out accountability.”

Omar has also cautioned that while the U.S. deals with Russia’s aggression in Ukraine, they should not form stronger ties to other countries with questionable records. On Sunday, she pointed to an Axios report suggesting that Biden might travel to Saudi Arabia to get them to pump more oil, providing an alternative to Russian energy.

Omar commented that this would be “wildly immoral” due to Saudi Arabia’s involvement in Yemen.

“Our response to Putin’s immoral war shouldn’t be to strengthen our relationship with the Saudis who are currently causing the worst humanitarian crisis on the planet in Yemen. Yemenis might not matter to some geopolitically but their humanity should. This is a wildly immoral act,” Omar stressed. Saudi Arabia has currently led a coalition fighting Iran-backed Houthis since 2015.

This comes after Omar released the following statement in response to the first days of the Russian invasion. “I condemn in the strongest possible terms Vladimir Putin’s reckless, illegal invasion of Ukraine. My thoughts are with the Ukrainian civilians who have already suffered immensely and are again suffering the brunt of this terrible conflict. We must continue to support diplomacy even as it becomes more difficult – though it is becoming harder to imagine, this could still escalate to something much more devastating.

“I support sanctions that are targeted at Putin, his oligarchs, and the Russian military, including and especially targeted at their offshore assets. But I will continue to oppose broad-based sanctions that would amount to collective punishment of a Russian population that did not choose this. I am heartened that the Biden Administration has included humanitarian exemptions and general licenses to the first tranche of sanctions, but I am also aware that exemptions and licenses have never been sufficient to prevent indiscriminate human suffering.

“Finally, we must direct some of the unity and resolve that we and our partners have shown in this crisis toward the civilians that are in harm’s way. This includes making allowances for humanitarian organizations to operate in sanctioned territory, and it also includes preparing to welcome the likely influx of refugees fleeing the conflict. As always, the countries immediately bordering Ukraine will face the greatest burden. The United States should lead by example and begin to resettle refugees here as soon as it becomes necessary. “
