Under the Biden Administration, The Department of Homeland Security is increasingly looking within its own borders to focus on "misinformation" and domestic threats.

The bulletin states that "several factors" contribute to the "heightened threat environment," including the "online spread of mis-dis-and-mal-information." Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas explains that this is fueled by foreign agents who "seek to exacerbate societal friction to sow discord and undermine public trust in government institutions..." That's the threat.

This is the fifth National Terrorism Advisory System issued under the Biden administration.

It leads off with a message from DHS Secretary Mayorkas:

"DHS remains committed to proactively sharing timely information and intelligence about the evolving threat environment with the American public. We also remain committed to working with our partners across every level of government and in the private sector to prevent all forms of terrorism and targeted violence, and to support law enforcement efforts to keep our communities safe. This NTAS Bulletin outlines the key factors that have increased the volatility, unpredictability, and complexity of the current threat environment, and highlights resources for individuals and communities to stay safe."

The threats of terrorists crossing into the United States from the Mexico border have been recognized at least once last year. While earlier on, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki acknowledged the issue, the situation was allowed to devolve, (as admitted by DHS Secretary Mayorkas) to the worst it’s ever been.

This comes as border patrol agents are openly in revolt against the lack of federal leadership.p> Yet the ongoing priority for the Biden Administration as demonstrated within this bulletin is the specter of disinformation presented in controversies surrounding the likes of Joe Rogan.

"The United States remains in a heightened threat environment fueled by several factors, including an online environment filled with false or misleading narratives and conspiracy theories, and other forms of mis-dis-and-mal-information (MDM) introduced and/or amplified by foreign and domestic threat actors.

"These threat actors seek to exacerbate societal friction to sow discord and undermine public trust in government institutions to encourage unrest, which could potentially inspire acts of violence. Mass casualty attacks and other acts of targeted violence conducted by lone offenders and small groups acting in furtherance of ideological beliefs and/or personal grievances pose an ongoing threat to the nation."

On a similar note when it comes to the northern border, the Canadian media had to retract their claim that Russians had a part to play in the ongoing freedom convoy protests happening in Ottawa.
