As peaceful January 6 protesters are sitting in prison for various crimes associated with the Capitol Protest, AntiFa militants that actually caused damage, torched cars and businesses and beat citizens on the street are being given a free pass.

The U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Columbia suggested no prison time for Jason Robert Charter, 27, an Antifa militant from Chevy Chase, Washington, DC.

Charter pleaded guilty last August in connection to two DC riots after the death of George Floyd in 2020.

U.S. Attorney Matthew Graves suggested that the court sentence Charter to only 30 hours of community service, three years of probation, 45 days of home detention, a $500 fine, and a $2,600 restitution payment to the Treasury, according to court documents.

In July 2020, Charter was federally charged on many counts, including the destruction of government property, the destruction of veterans' memorials, and aiding and abetting. He was accused of partaking with others to topple and destroy the statue of Albert Pike on June 20, 2020. The Department of Justice referenced a video where Charter was filmed setting the figure on fire.

At the #At The WalkAway rally, Charter was filmed among "Freedom Fighters" counter-demonstrators wrestling with assigned Park Police. In a criminal affidavit, Charter was observed seizing the upper collar of an officer's tactical vest in an attempt to tackle the cop to the ground. Multiple individuals moved to de-arrest Charter.

Two days later, he allegedly tried to tear down the statue of Andrew Jackson in Lafayette Square. According to a federal official, Charter "was on top of the statue and directed people" who had acid, chisels, and straps. The Antifa militant was offered a plea agreement, and all charges were brought down to disorderly conduct on restricted grounds. Charter pleaded guilty to that single charge.

Charter told The Post Millennial that he didn't "recall ever rioting in June 2020" and disputed the characterization of the violent direct actions and arson as rioting. He complained about the pictures used in reporting on his activities.

In addition to the riot incidents in June 2020, the Antifa militant, from a well-to-do family in an upscale neighborhood of DC, has two different open assault cases in Washington, DC.

Federal prosecutors accuse Charter of assaulting Human Events senior editor Jack Posobiec at a Black Lives Matter protest in June 2020 and attacking a law enforcement officer in October 2020 at a Conservative "Walk Away" rally on the Washington Monument grounds.

Throughout the physical confrontation against Posobiec, Charter was joined by his comrade Nicole Armbruster. Armbruster has a long criminal history spanning numerous states and was charged with assault in DC in late 2020. When she was searched at her arrest, police discovered lighter fluid and commercial grade fireworks on her.
