Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who has long been an advocate for mask-wearing throughout the pandemic, was seen partying in Miami on Sunday without a face covering altogether as she socialized with actor Billy Porter. After being outed she went on a rant ranging from 'Republicans want to kill me' to 'Republicans want to date me'. The New York congresswoman, who has been in Miami since before the new year, seemed to be prolonging her vacation in the Sunshine State at a packed drag bar event in the city. This comes as her own constituents, from 2-year-old kids to 100-year-old grandparents are being forced to wear masks everywhere as New York's liberal governor is scaring the population into blind submission. [tweet_embed] January 4, 2021[/tweet_embed] The reaction of AOC to images of her frolicking without a mask inside Ron DeSantis' covid sanctuary state was odd if not completely unhinged. Waging a war of words targeting anyone - but referring to them as Republicans she alleged that there is a target on her back, people want to kill her and then the narcissist came out when she switched to they all want to date her. In a short clip published to social media, Ocasio-Cortez could be seen waving to other barriers to cheers and applause while being presented on stage by the MC of the "drag brunch" event. The compere could be heard praising the politician, prompting wild cheers from gathered diners. Ocasio-Cortez's presence in Florida, a state that she has long denounced for its lax coronavirus limitations throughout earlier waves of the pandemic, seemed to annoy some Republicans and Conservative journalists who grew weary of her using the southern state as an instance of how not to do things. "AOC is STILL lounging it up in Florida, in large crowds and maskless. This time at a Drag Queen bar in Miami. Rules for thee but not for me," wrote right-wing journalist Brendon Leslie. [tweet_embed] January 4, 2021[/tweet_embed] "For those of you with zero sense of humor: the whole point of this post is to expose hypocrisy. We don't actually care that she's maskless. We care that she fears mongers about Florida but then has the audacity to vacation here," he went on. "AOC was spotted partying in a bar maskless in the great free state of Florida. Absolute hypocrite," tweeted Twitter account Libs of Tik Tok. The Democratic socialist Representative was first blamed by many for "frolicking in free Florida" while her home state-enforced mask mandates after her Miami lunch date with her boyfriend on December 30. [tweet_embed] January 4, 2021[/tweet_embed] AOC hit back on New Year's Day, arguing that the backlash came purely because her critics "want to date her." "If Republicans are mad they can't date me they can just say that instead of projecting their sexual frustrations onto my boyfriend's feet. Ya creepy weirdos," she tweeted. She went on: "It's starting to get old ignoring the very obvious, strange, and deranged sexual frustrations that underpin the Republican fixation on me, women,& LGBT+ people in general." "These people clearly need therapy, won't do it, and use politics as their outlet instead. It's really weird." [tweet_embed] January 4, 2021[/tweet_embed] The congresswoman outraged Republicans days earlier when a picture of her December 30 lunch in Miami was published, with her opponents stressing that the strident supporter of mask mandates was not wearing one then either. "Welcome to Florida, AOC!' tweeted the account of the state's Republican governor, Ron DeSantis. "We hope you're enjoying a taste of freedom here in the Sunshine State thanks to @RonDeSantisFL's leadership."
