House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced timetables for events to commemorate the one-year anniversary of the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

A letter to Democratic colleagues, which was presented to the media on Monday, asked members to report whether they will be in Washington on Jan. 6, as the House will not be in session that week, to aid organizers to prepare for "this solemn observance."

"I don’t have anything to report to you at this point in time about our plans," Psaki said.

"Jan. 6 was one of the darkest days in our democracy," she continued. "It was a day when our nation's capital was under attack and I think there's no question you'll see us commemorate that day."

"Already, preparations are underway for a full program of events, including a discussion among historians about the narrative of that day; an opportunity for Members to share their experiences and reflections from that day; and a prayerful vigil in the evening," Pelosi said.

The White House is also reportedly planning to mark the Jan. 6 riot.

A House Select Committee, which has two Republican members, is looking into the events surrounding Jan. 6, the day hundreds of people stormed the U.S. Capitol complex, disrupting lawmakers as they certified President Joe Biden's 2020 win.

The House plans to be back in session on Jan. 10, following a break for the holidays.
