The Department of Homeland Security gave a $456,548 contract in September to Rehoboth's Turnstone Builders, a Delaware construction firm, to build the security fence, according to USASpending.gov.
Building of the barrier had not started as of Oct. 20, the Cape Gazette reported, but the government spending website says the project is assumed to be completed by the end of the year.
According to county tax records, Biden purchased the North Shores home in 2017, and he paid $2.7 million for the property.

He has traveled to the property twice so far during his presidency.
According to the local report, during Biden's first visit in June, the Secret Service and local police set up a security checkpoint. A nearby lake was closed. The Federal Aviation Administration issued temporary flight restrictions.

A couple of months later, the Coast Guard created security zones in the Lewes-Rehoboth Canal and the Atlantic Ocean for his second visit.
In his Opening Monologue on Friday, Sean Hannity ripped Biden regarding the construction of the fence.

Hannity noted that Biden sought to "appease the radical left" by ending President Trump's border wall project, cancelling contracts and allowing largely unfettered egress by illegal aliens into the United States.
"Ironically, at the same time Biden started construction on a giant wall around his beach house – at your expense of course."

On "Hannity", the host went on to note the southern border is a "disaster" as a wall is instead being contracted for the president's beach house.

"But Joe Biden is just too busy to visit [the southern border] … but not too busy to spend nearly every weekend in Delaware at the beach."
He stressed that Biden claimed during the Baltimore town hall to have traveled the southern border during his time in government but was fact-checked by observers.

Earlier Friday, White House correspondent Peter Doocy told "Special Report" that Biden came near the southern border when he went into El Paso's airport and motorcaded to a 2008 campaign event in Las Cruces, N.M.
