"Fisters," otherwise known as Fire Support Specialists, are an integral part of the US Army's 1st Security Force Assistance Brigade (1SFAB). Fisters play an important role in providing Army Units with precise, timely, and accurate fire support. This includes fire-and-maneuver coordination, integration of artillery and close air support, target acquisition and surveillance, and indirect fire support. Fisters use advanced technologies and tactics to ensure that Army Units achieve their objectives. They have the knowledge and skills to synchronize and integrate a variety of weapons systems to support ground forces. This includes the ability to rapidly adjust fires in response to changing battlefield conditions. Fisters also provide advice and guidance to other units, advising them on the best tactics for executing missions yet also ensuring that the safety of soldiers is not compromised.
