The Arleigh Burke DDG 51 Destroyer is a United States Navy destroyer built with the Aegis Combat System and the SPY-1D multi-function passive electronically scanned array radar. The purpose of this unit is to both perform surveillance missions and to be used as an offensive weapon when necessary.

The first one of these destroyers was commissioned in 1991, and there have been a total of 70 completely built and put into service. There are another 13 being built at the time of this writing and seven more on order. It is a popular type of destroyer that has proven to be very valuable to the military.

This destroyer can carry up to 90 missiles to be used against the militaries of other countries as necessary. It is so important to give this some consideration when thinking about how these destroyers might be used to keep the safety and security of the world at the forefront of all that the military does.

The destroyer ranges in length between 505 and 509.5 feet, so they are clearly not going to be easy to avoid being seen out on the water. However, they are viewed as a frontline ship to be used for military missions around the world.
