Bizarre Historical Photos That Influenced America

Lincoln Delivers The Gettysburg Address

One of the best-known speeches in all of American history, The Gettysburg Address, was delivered on November 19th, 1863 around four months after the Union defeated the Confederacy during the bloodiest battle in all of the Civil War, The Battle of Gettysburg. The Gettysburg Address, as impactful and powerful as it is, only consists of 271 words. In summation, it emphasizes American ideals, such as the pursuit of the fight for freedom on behalf of those who have died for the country. The photo of Lincoln delivering the Gettysburg Address is only one of two known photos of him. He is somewhat hard to make out in the photo, but if you look toward the center at the man facing the camera, you’ll surely find Honest Abe!
