Joint Task Force 2 (JTF2) is a Canadian Armed Forces special operations unit specializing in counter-terrorism both domestically and internationally. There are around 300 members in JTF2, and the average age is 37. Lieutenant-Colonel leads the unit. The JTF2 is based in Dwyer Hill Training Centre, an isolated area in Ottawa.
Although forces were also active in Afghanistan, their activities were highly safeguarded. JTF 2 describes itself as “a scalpel, not a hammer,” making them a faceless, shadowy counter-terrorism force. This world-class elite troop divulges almost nothing about its ultra-secretive operations.
