Forgotten 1970s TV Shows That Will Tickle Your Memory

All That Glitters

Norman Lear produced All That Glitters, a spoof of the soap opera format that ran for 65 episodes from April to July 1977, five evenings a week on syndicated television. The plot of the series was about the executives at Globatron, a corporation that reversed the roles of men and women. The executives and breadwinners were women, whereas the secretaries and househusbands were men. During the series, men were often objectified as sex objects. Eileen Brennan, Greg Evigan, Lois Nettleton, Gary Sandy, Tim Thomerson, and Jessica Walter, among other actors, were regular cast members. In addition to being a comic actor and cartoon voice artist, Chuck McCann was a frequent participant. Linda Gray played transgender fashion model Linda Murkland, the first transgender series regular on American television. All That Glitters suffered professionally and was a rating disappointment across syndicated television.
