Doctors were stumped for years over how to treat Brooke Greenberg, who still looked and behaved like a toddler. They dubbed her condition "Syndrome X." In the womb, she did not develop one month, then caught up the next; however, her development ceased at age 5, her parents said. The Greenbergs Brooke's see many specialists to figure out what was wrong with her as her younger sister aged passed Brooke. However, no doctor could give her parents an answer. Doctors foretold Brooke's death several times, and her parents even chose a casket and burial clothes for her years before she died. As a child, Brooke reportedly developed a strong sense of individual identity, enjoyed hugs, and loved her parents and sisters. In her teens, she also became rebellious and even had a favorite football team her family said. Sadly, Brooke passed away when she was 20 years old still in the body of a toddler.
