Money Talks And Bullsh*t Walks: Columbia Responds To Robert Kraft Pulling Support

Kraft's decision was announced through a statement released by his philanthropic organization, the Foundation to Combat Antisemitism.

In the statement, Kraft expressed his deep sorrow at the "virulent hate that continues to grow on campus and throughout our country." He further stated that he would not feel "comfortable supporting the university until corrective action is taken."

Responding to Kraft's decision, a spokesperson from Columbia University expressed gratitude for Kraft's years of service and generosity to the institution. The spokesperson stated, "Columbia is grateful to Mr. Kraft for his years of generosity and service to Columbia." The spokesperson further added that the university is currently focused on providing necessary support to its community members and ensuring campus safety amidst the crisis.

The antisemitic protests at Columbia University have escalated to a point where the New York City Police Department had to arrest 108 protesters last week. The protesters had set up an encampment on the campus lawn. In response to the growing concerns about campus safety, Columbia University has shifted its classes to virtual or hybrid modes.

In related news, another prominent donor to Columbia University, billionaire investor and CEO of Omega Advisors, Leon Cooperman, has also paused his donations to the institution. According to the New York Post, Cooperman's decision to halt donations began shortly after the Israel-Hamas war commenced on October 7.

In an interview with FOX Business last October, Cooperman criticized the college students, stating, "These kids at the colleges have s--- for brains." He further expressed his support for Israel, stating, "We have one reliable ally in the Middle East. That's Israel. We only have one democracy in the Middle East. That's Israel. And we have one economy tolerant of different people, gays, lesbians, etc. That's Israel."

Cooperman also revealed that he has donated approximately $50 million to Columbia University over the years. However, he plans to suspend his donations and redirect them to other organizations.
