According to information gathered by The Economist/YouGov and reported by Breitbart, the majority of Americans are no longer worried about Coronavirus.

The percentage breakdown shows 59 percent are not very worried, and out of that figure, 27 percent said they are “not worried at all.” The “somewhat” worried group was 28 percent, and 13 percent said they were “very” worried.

The political party breakdown shows 58 percent of Democrats are concerned, while Republicans are 26 percent, and Independents are at 38 percent for being somewhat worried. Seventy-three percent of Republicans and 60 percent of Independents are not overly concerned or worried about contracting COVID.

The survey asked whether individuals were wearing masks. Forty-four percent “never wear a mask,” and 25 percent wear a mask “some of the time.” Only 14 percent said they wore a mask “most of the time,” and 17 percent “always” wore it.

The poll also surveyed what people felt was the current status of the pandemic. Twenty-five percent believe the COVID pandemic “has already ended,” and 32 percent believe there will never be an end.

While President Biden declared in September that the pandemic was “over,” the survey was taken following Dr. Anthony Fauci’s announcement this week urging individuals to take a COVID test before family gatherings for the holidays.

Dr. Fauci said in the news conference, “So when we’re gathering at a family gathering for Thanksgiving or for Christmas or for any other holiday as we get into the winter, it makes sense that you might want to get a test that day before you come into a place in which you might be infected and spread it, or other people who might be there in order to protect.” He noted that wearing a mask and being vaccinated and boosted are “part of the spectrum of protecting yourself.”
