This unexpected alignment comes despite Cheney's previous vote to impeach Trump.
On Wednesday, Cheney, a Republican who has publicly distanced herself from Trump, criticized Biden's decision to withhold aid from Israel, America's closest ally in the Middle East. She described the move as "wrong and dangerous," echoing Trump's sentiments expressed in a tweet where he accused Biden of aiding the Hamas terror group and siding with terrorists.
"America must not abandon Israel. Doing so would mean victory for Iran and all its terrorist allies," Cheney wrote, expressing her concern over the potential geopolitical implications of Biden's decision.

The criticism from both Republicans came in response to Biden's pledge to withhold weapons from Israel if Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu proceeds with a planned invasion of Rafah, the last Hamas stronghold in Gaza.
Cheney's public rebuke of Biden's foreign policy comes amidst Trump's ongoing criticism of the current administration. Trump has repeatedly labeled Biden as "weak" and claimed that his foreign policies are steering the world towards a third world war.

In a post, Trump reminded Biden of the deadly Hamas terror attack on Israeli border communities on October 7, which resulted in the death of 1,200 people, marking it as the deadliest terror attack in Israel's history.
"Biden is weak, corrupt, and leading the world straight into World War III," Trump wrote, adding that the current conflicts in Israel and Ukraine would not have occurred under his administration.
Cheney, the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, had a complex relationship with Trump during his presidency. Despite serving as the chair of the House Republican Conference during Trump's tenure, she became a vocal critic of him following his defeat in the 2020 election.

Her opposition to Trump intensified when she joined the House Select Committee investigating the events of the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot. Cheney's decision to recommend and vote for Trump's impeachment led to her defeat in the 2022 GOP primary race for Wyoming's at-large congressional seat.
