A Yahoo/YouGov survey taken the week before Thanksgiving shows that 77 percent of Americans feel inflation affects their lives, and 57 percent blame President Joe Biden for it.
Among Democratic voters, 25 percent say Biden is not doing enough to handle the inflation, and another 39 percent say they aren't sure. This means that 64 percent of the president's own party doesn't have much faith in his response to the inflation crisis.
Inflation is exceeding three-decade highs amid a supply chain crisis provoked by a lack of workers. From October 2020 until now, prices overall in the U.S. have soared by 6.2 percent.

Republicans say they feel the outcomes of inflation at a higher rate than Democrats.
The surveys show 90 percent of Republican voters feel inflation has impacted their life "a great deal" or "some", while only 69 percent of Democrats feel the same. Independent voters are in the middle at 79 percent.

When respondents were asked what they felt was the nation's greatest issue, more Americans said inflation than anything else. Seventeen percent said inflation was the top issue compared to the 15 percent who said the COVID-19 pandemic.

Forty-five percent of respondents said they are concerned they "won't be able to get what they need" due to shortages related to massive delays in the supply chain arising from bottlenecks at U.S. ports.
The poll was taken among 1,696 adults from November 17-19. Of that sample, 80 percent said supply chain interruptions could be blamed on the pandemic, while 57 accused the president.

The new survey comes as Biden faces record-low support ratings – usually lying in the low 40s.
On Wednesday, a new NPR/Marist poll shows the president at 43 percent approval as his drop persists. This was the weakest approval for Biden since the poll started tracking it when he took office.

In the Yahoo/YouGov poll, Biden's approval rating on his handling of the economy was at just 40 percent – lower than his overall approval.

One area where prices are kicking especially hard is at the pump, where prices of a gallon of gas have averaged $3.40 across the country, reaching much higher in some areas – like in California where it has exceeded $5.00 per gallon.
Biden announced on Tuesday to the anger of Republicans that he is delivering 50 million barrels of oil from the nation's Strategic Petroleum Reserve to help lower gas prices in the short term.
