Sunny Hostin insulted one of her guest hosts on "The View" on Friday who identified as Republican, stating that black people and Latinos can't be Republican, and that it's an "oxymoron."

"I’m a black woman first, so always understand that," declared guest host Lindsey Granger, a black woman, to Ana Navarro, a different guest host, who works for CNN.

"But I do say that I have many conservative values that I will talk to you about, and so if you look at your network that you’re standing behind," she went on, further talking to Navarro, yet then being cut off abruptly by Hostin.

"Are you a Republican?" asked Hostin. "Yes," Granger replied, attempting to continue with her point, bringing up now-disgraced ex-CNN correspondent Chris Cuomo.

Hostin wasn't about to let her proceed freely. "I feel like that's an oxymoron, a black Republican," she opined.

"You feel like it’s an oxymoron?" asked Granger.

"I do," replied Hostin. "Why?" responded Granger, visibly confused by the statement. Indicating Navarro, she told Hostin, "your friend right here is a Republican."

"We’ve had this conversation many times," chimed Navarro.

Granger went on, pointing out to Hostin that she claims to feel "like it’s an oxymoron that you’re Catholic but you also are pro-life."

"I don’t understand either of you," Hostin answered. "You don’t understand yourself, then," claimed a frustrated Granger.

"I understand myself. I don't understand either of you," insisted Hostin. "I don’t understand Black Republicans and I don’t understand Latino Republicans."

In 2021 it was announced that membership to the Congressional Black Caucus was being denied to Donalds.

Speaking to CNN, Donalds announced, "As a black man in America, I am allowed to have my own thoughts on who I choose to support and who I choose not to support."

"I've had the ability to advocate for issues, ideas, proposals, and funding that have helped the black community in my state," and touted his education at an HBCU, at the time.

He stated, "This is about whether the ideology of someone who is conservative is welcome in the Congressional Black Caucus, it's really that simple."

Donalds' office said back then that he had spoken with at least three members regarding joining the CBC, though has yet to receive an answer back now a quarter of the way through the 117th Congress.

"Congressman Donalds has expressed interest in joining the CBC, but has yet to receive an official invitation," stated one of Donalds’ aides. "If given, he'd gladly accept."
