New York City Mayor-elect, Eric Adams, threw a star-studded VIP victory party last night where he guaranteed to embrace the city's financial leaders. He got applause from some of the Big Apple's biggest movers-and-shakers after earlier slamming his predecessor, fellow Democrat Bill de Blasio.

Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt and Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker were among the VIP guests to participate in the celebrations. The outgoing Brooklyn borough President and former cop defeated his GOP opponent Curtis Sliwa in Tuesday's election.

"Can we hit reset with our business community? Can I say to you that this is going to become one of the most business-friendly cities?" Adams asked at the victory party to enthusiastic applause.

Adams further declared to his 100 guests he would spend the city's almost $100 billion budget more intelligently. They enjoyed a selection of party food, including sushi and sliders at Manhattan's Soho hot spot Zero Bond.

"Year after year after year, we're taking $97 billion dollars and giving you an inferior product and we're supposed to act like everything is alright? Damn it it's not alright," Adams announced, wearing a blue flower-print sports jacket.

Speaking earlier after the results were declared, Adams pledged to fight for all New Yorkers which his predecessor failed to do.

On Tuesday night, Adams, 61, told his followers that his campaign "was never, never, never about me."

"This campaign was for those who have been betrayed by their government," he announced. "There is a covenant between the government and the people of our city: you pay your taxes, we deliver your tax dollars through goods and services. We have failed to provide those goods and services — Jan. 1, that stops. That stops!"

Adams has routinely vocalized his condemnation of de Blasio and taken measures to distance himself from the city's leader while on the campaign trail.

He previously blamed the Progressive Democrat for not being "committed and dedicated to the city." Adams further claimed that New York needs to move away from de Blasio's policies, making it "a city of disorder" and an "enemy of business."

Schmidt called Adams a "total shift from Mayor de Blasio" at the victory party. "New York doesn't work unless it grows because the costs are so high and the pressures are so great if you hold it flat it doesn't handle it correctly," Google's former CEO told the New York Post. "So you have to have a pro-growth mayor. He's a pro-growth mayor who is why the business community came out so strongly for him."
