CNN's Jim Acosta has deemed Tucker Carlson, and GOP leaders 'American Taliban'.

In a Saturday episode of CNN's Newsroom with Jim Acosta, the eponymous host called out Republican leaders for acting "like an American Taliban," as well as Fox News personality Tucker Carlson for being a "human manure spreader" in response to statements they've made on Afghan refugees coming to America.

In a segment titled, "It's the far-right, not Afghan refugees, posing a threat to democracy," Acosta insisted that "leading figures on the far-right have been sounding the alarm on Afghan evacuees all week. The refugees are coming. The refugees are coming." Acosta cut to a clip of Rep. Louie Gohmert saying that of the Afghan refugees coming into America, "there is a significant percentage that are future Boston Marathon bombers, because they're not doing adequate vetting."

According to the Daily Caller, at least 100 Afghan refugees have been flagged for alleged terrorist ties as of Sept. 3, with the Pentagon announcing that 0.5 percent of refugees are suspected of questionable connections, such as connections to attacks against the United States or coalition forces.

"Over on Fox, human manure spreader Tucker Carlson has floated yet another race-baiting conspiracy theory that tens of thousands of Afghan refugees are being welcomed into this country in order to change the outcome of future elections," Acosta said before cutting to a clip of Tucker Carlson Tonight. "Did he say 'Operation Change America Forever?' Change is already in the air."

Acosta went on to declare that the "insurrection" that happened at the Capitol building on Jan. 6 is currently ongoing, with leaders like GOP Rep. Madison Cawthorn and Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene issuing "threatening" language, including the latter Georgia lawmaker telling telecommunication companies that cooperated with requests for lawmakers' phone records on Jan. 6 that they will be "shut down" if "they go along with this."

Acosta then blasted the Texas Heartbeat Act enacted in the Lone Star Sate, which bans abortions after a fetal heartbeat is detected. The so-called "dystopian bounty system" that Acosta later referred to is the legal liability individuals face who are suspected of aiding and abetting illegal abortions.

For those Afghan girls coming into the country escaping the clutches of the Taliban, the CNN host suggested that American girls will be forced to "fill them in."

"Unfortunately what we will tell them is that some members of the far-right in this country have apparently decided they will resort to intimidation and in some cases even violence to get what they want," Acosta said. "And they could sweep into power faster than the experts thought possible," said Acosta. "Sound familiar?"

"Sort of like an American Taliban," Acosta concluded the on-air segment. "It is starting to look like a combination of theocracy and thugocracy."
