Mel Kiper Doesn’t Think Justin Fields Should Go To The NFL

ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper thinks Justin Fields should take a hard look at returning to Ohio State.

The starquarterback is believed to likely be the second overall pick in the draft, but the face of ESPN’s draft coverage thinks he could benefit from another year of college football. (RELATED: David Hookstead Is The True King In The North When It Comes To College Football)

Kiper said the following on the “First Draft” podcast about what Fields should do, according to BroBible:

I think going back to Ohio State for another year, as opposed to coming into the National Football League without the momentum from having a great season like he did two years ago…I think it’s worth a minute or two discussion as to whether Justin Fields would be better off going back to Ohio State for the 2021 season.

I hate to burst Kiper’s bubble here, but there’s no shot in hell that Fields returns for another season of college football.

Why would he? Seriously, what would he have to gain? Did he look spectacular at all times this season? No, but he still led the Buckeyes to the national title game.
