Patty Jenkins Says It ‘Was An Internal War’ Making ‘Wonder Woman’

“Wonder Woman” director Patty Jenkins apparently had a rough time making the hit movie.

The 2017 movie with Gal Gadot crushed on just about every single level, and was the best superhero movie in years.

“Everybody in the industry wanted to hire me. But I felt like they wanted to hire me like a beard; they wanted me to walk around on set being a woman director — but it was their story and their vision,” Jenkins explained during a recent appearance on the “WTF Podcast” about her experience trying to get “Wonder Woman” made, according to the New York Post.

She further added that Warner Bros eventually let her make the movie her way, but that it “was an internal war on every level about what ‘Wonder Woman’ should be.”

Admittedly, I don’t know a ton about how a script goes from being written to being made. I do know that a ton of changes are often made and studios are incredibly protective.

Why? Well, nobody wants to dump a ton of money into a losing venture. That’s just the way the world works.

You know what else they definitely don’t want to do? Screw up a multi-billion dollar franchise, which is exactly what “Wonder Woman” has become with Gadot leading the way.
