Weinstein, who was handed his verdict on Monday, endorsed the now-presidential hopeful in his run for second term as mayor of New York City, Huffington Post reported Tuesday.
Bloomberg’s relationship with Weinstein, the face of the #MeToo movement, is being circulated by rival democratic campaigns in an attempt to derail the billionaire’s White House bid.
A report from the now-defunct New York Sun was unearthed by the Huffington Post and details how Weinstein, 67, then a major Democratic donor, recorded a robocall for Bloomberg.
“New York City is a great place to make movies. And we’ve got a great leader in Mike Bloomberg,” Weinstein said, according to the Sun report.
