A student at Watson B. Duncan Middle School in Palm Beach Gardens took a photo of the multiple-choice question that read: “45th Pres; 2017; Republican; Real Estate businessman; Idiot.”
That didn’t sit well with the student’s dad, who took to twitter with his gripes.
“This was an actual question on my daughters middle school test today,” Cameron Cary wrote. “Furious. Going to raise some hell with the principle [sic]. Indoctrination will not continue.”
“(See word “idiot” at the end of our presidents multiple choice answer),” he added. “Not having it!”Cam Cary
The enraged dad met with the Principal Phillip D’Amico on Thursday, and updated his followers to say that “So far the school has been responsive and cooperative.”
“They apologized and fully recognize this as unacceptable,” Cary tweeted.
The teacher who gave the quiz was reassigned, pending an investigation, the Palm Beach County School District said.
The principal also sent out an apology letter to parents, The South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported.
“The question was inappropriate, and demonstrated an unacceptable lack of good judgment on the part of the teacher,” D’Amico wrote.
It’s not clear if the teacher actually wrote the offensive question. Cary tweeted that the question came from online learning tool Quizlet, and that the teacher “didn’t write it but did select it.”
