A simmering feud inside the Texas Democratic Party has erupted into public view, threatening to derail a high-profile U.S. Senate primary before voters even head to the polls.

According to the Gateway Pundit, Texas State Rep. James Talarico, a Democrat seeking his party’s nomination for U.S. Senate, is now facing intense backlash over allegations that he made racially charged remarks about fellow Democrat and former congressman Colin Allred, as well as current rival Rep. Jasmine Crockett. The controversy underscores the left’s ongoing obsession with identity politics, where accusations of racism are routinely weaponized—only this time, the fire is coming from inside the Democratic tent.

The dispute exploded after Allred publicly condemned Talarico for comments the Senate hopeful allegedly made in a private conversation that later surfaced online. On Monday afternoon, Allred released a video on social media, declaring, “I understand that James Talarico had the temerity and audacity to say to a Black woman that he had signed up to run against a mediocre black man, meaning me,” and adding, “This man should not be our nominee for Senate. I was not going to get involved in this race, but don’t come for me unless I send for you, OK James? And keep my name out of your mouth.”

The allegations were first detailed by TikTok influencer Morgan Thompson, who recounted a private exchange with Talarico from last month. Thompson said Talarico told her he had entered the race to challenge “a mediocre Black man,” referring to Allred, and “not a formidable, intelligent Black woman” referring to Crockett, comments that immediately ignited charges of racial disrespect within his own party.

Allred amplified his criticism on Twitter/X, signaling that he would not remain silent while his name and record were disparaged. For a party that constantly lectures the country about racial sensitivity, the spectacle of Democrats accusing each other of racially loaded insults is a revealing moment.

Talarico is also drawing fire from Christians and pro-life advocates over remarks he made on Joe Rogan’s podcast, where he attempted to argue that Scripture supports abortion rights. As critics noted, “For progressives, their progressivism always comes first, before everything. That’s why Talarico twisted himself into knots trying to make the Bible sound pro-choice. Their politics always come first,” a reminder that for many on the left, ideology routinely overrides both faith and basic political prudence.
