President Donald Trump revealed plans to engage in a meeting with Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, on Thursday.

This announcement follows Goldberg's admission of being inadvertently included in a Signal chat where officials were discussing military actions against Houthi targets in Yemen. Trump expressed his skepticism about the encounter, stating, "Later today I will be meeting with, of all people, Jeffrey Goldberg, the Editor of The Atlantic, and the person responsible for many fictional stories about me, including the made-up HOAX on 'Suckers and Losers' and, SignalGate, something he was somewhat more 'successful' with."

He further noted that Goldberg would be accompanied by Michael Scherer and Ashley Parker, both of whom he described as "not exactly pro-Trump writers, either, to put it mildly!"

According to The Post Millennial, the meeting is part of an article titled "The Most Consequential President of this Century," which The Atlantic plans to publish. Trump remarked on his motivation for participating in the interview, saying, "I am doing this interview out of curiosity, and as a competition with myself, just to see if it’s possible for The Atlantic to be 'truthful.' Are they capable of writing a fair story on 'TRUMP'? The way I look at it, what can be so bad – I WON!"

The Trump administration has been vocal in its criticism of Goldberg, particularly in light of his reporting on the Signal chat. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt addressed the media, asserting, "If this story proves anything, it proves that Democrats and their propagandists in the mainstream media know how to fabricate, orchestrate and disseminate a misinformation campaign quite well, and there's arguably no one in the media who loves manufacturing and pushing hoaxes more than Jeffrey Goldberg." Leavitt highlighted Goldberg's political affiliations, noting his status as a registered Democrat and his wife's connections to the Democratic Party, including her past work under Hillary Clinton. She also referenced Goldberg's controversial reporting on weapons of mass destruction, which was used to justify the Iraq War.

When questioned about the report, Trump expressed his disdain for The Atlantic, remarking, "I'm not a big fan of The Atlantic, to me it's a magazine that's going out of business. I think it's not much of a magazine."
