This initiative underscores the administration's commitment to leveraging every available governmental resource to address immigration concerns.
"This is the Trump administration using every tool it has in its toolbox to crack down on illegal immigration," remarked Tom Jones, the executive director of the American Accountability Foundation, in a conversation with Fox News Digital. As reported by Fox News, the SSA is currently scrutinizing the status of hundreds of thousands of immigrants who were granted "temporary parole" under the Biden administration.

This status permitted these individuals to obtain Social Security numbers for employment purposes. However, Trump administration officials have raised alarms, claiming that over 6,300 of these individuals are either on the FBI's terrorist watch list or possess FBI criminal records, according to a report from Axios.

In response, the SSA has initiated the process of transferring the names of these flagged migrants from its "Death Master File," a database typically reserved for deceased individuals, to the "Ineligible Master File." This action is part of a broader effort by President Trump to utilize all available resources in his deportation campaign. This includes deploying military forces to fortify the border and enlisting the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to cross-check data for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE).

Despite the administration's assertive measures, not all government officials are in agreement. The collaboration between the IRS and ICE recently led to the resignation of IRS Acting Commissioner Melanie Krause. Similar dissent may arise within the SSA, as some agency staff have voiced concerns about the data-sharing agreement. According to some staffers who spoke with the Washington Post, checks against the data typically used to search for criminal history revealed no evidence of crimes or law enforcement interactions for some of the youngest immigrants.
Jones argues that such resignations highlight the necessity for a transformation within the federal workforce. "The fact that IRS leadership resigned over cooperating with ICE shows exactly why there needs to be a concerned effort to ensure that the federal workforce is composed of leaders who are willing to implement the president's agenda," he stated. He further emphasized that for every senior official who resigns, numerous civil servants remain in positions where they can potentially hinder the president's objectives.

Nevertheless, Jones anticipates that President Trump will persist in employing all possible resources to advance his immigration policies. "The Social Security Administration is just one example. I suspect we will also see places like OSHA, which has staff on job sites, using their inspectors to target illegal alien workers and the businesses that employ them," Jones commented. He concluded by noting that the administration has been poised for years to implement an aggressive America First strategy, developed during a period of political opposition.
