New York Governor Kathy Hochul has taken a firm stance against the concept of mass deportation, asserting that state police will not participate in such actions.

During an appearance on The David Pakman Show, Hochul emphasized, “We’re not going to allow this mass deportation,” clarifying that cooperation will be limited to cases involving warrants or individuals on terrorism watch lists.

She elaborated, “Where we will cooperate... if you have a warrant, or you know, someone’s on a terrorism watch list or committing crimes in their home country, or committing crimes here, that’s a different category, and I will help you with those to protect everyone.”

According to Breitbart, Hochul's comments come amid heightened immigration enforcement activities, notably in sanctuary cities like Boston, Massachusetts. President Trump's border czar recently oversaw a significant operation in Boston, resulting in the arrest of 370 illegal immigrants, many of whom were identified as serious criminals, including child sexual predators.

The operation was a collaborative effort involving multiple federal agencies, including ICE, FBI, ATF, DEA, U.S. Marshals, and DSS. Tom Homan, a key figure in the operation, stated, “ICE had to find and arrest these illegal alien rapists because Massachusetts and Boston are sanctuaries that refuse to cooperate with ICE.”

Hochul's policy reflects a broader tension between state and federal approaches to immigration enforcement. She highlighted that while some counties in New York have chosen to cooperate with ICE, the state police, under her jurisdiction, will not. “What I control is the state police, and they will not cooperate in that,” she declared. This decision underscores a commitment to protecting sensitive areas such as schools from immigration enforcement actions, a stance that aligns with her administration's priorities.

Meanwhile, Homan has been vocal in his criticism of New York Democrats for their policies supporting illegal immigration. During his visit to the New York state Capitol in Albany, he remained unfazed by protesters, symbolically munching on an apple as he passed by the crowd. His actions and statements reflect a broader conservative critique of sanctuary policies, which are seen as undermining federal immigration enforcement efforts.

The ongoing debate over immigration policy continues to highlight the divide between state and federal priorities. While Hochul's administration focuses on limiting state involvement in deportation efforts, federal authorities, under the guidance of figures like Homan, are intensifying their operations in sanctuary cities.

This clash of ideologies raises questions about the balance of power between state and federal governments and the implications for communities across the nation. As the situation evolves, the impact on public safety and community relations remains a critical point of discussion.
