Bill Maher, the outspoken host of "Real Time," has shared his intentions for an upcoming meeting with President Donald Trump at the White House, humorously noting his choice of attire.

During an episode of his Club Random podcast with comedian Andrew Schulz, Maher joked, "I’m not going to dress like Zelenskyy," referencing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's casual appearance during a recent Oval Office meeting with Trump. Schulz, known for his Flagrant podcast, added to the jest, saying, "Not a f---ing lululemon outfit… Zelenskyy pulled up looking like a yoga instructor."

As reported by Fox News, Schulz praised Trump's openness to dialogue, suggesting that this willingness to engage with a wide range of individuals is a key aspect of his appeal. In contrast, Schulz criticized former Vice President Kamala Harris for her perceived reluctance to engage, which he believes contributed to her electoral defeat.

Both Maher and Schulz emphasized the importance of dialogue and the American tradition of engaging with those who hold opposing views. Maher, a longtime critic of Trump, acknowledged the significance of the President's willingness to meet with him, asking, "Who’s been meaner than me?" Schulz humorously responded, "JD Vance."

Maher revealed that his team had compiled a five-page dossier of Trump's past insults directed at him, labeling Maher as "crazy" and his show as a "ratings disaster." Despite this, Maher dismissed the criticisms as "performative," asserting, "I don’t care, and he doesn’t care."

He expressed disdain for the left's "mean girl" behavior, which he described as refusing to engage with those they disagree with. "I’m not playing this game that you mean girls play, where they’re like, ‘Oh, you know what? You can’t sit at my lunch table because I’m just not talking to you,'" Maher stated.

Drawing a parallel to a personal experience, Maher recounted meeting an ex-girlfriend's military veteran father, who respected Maher despite their political differences. This encounter, Maher suggested, would serve as a "model" for his conduct during the White House dinner, where he intends to be "respectful" to President Trump.

Maher underscored the importance of acknowledging Trump's electoral victory, stating, "You have to respect that, the guy did win. It's more than half the country… you can not like Trump, you can hate him, but you can’t hate everybody who voted for him… I don’t hate half the country and I don’t want to hate half the country."

Maher concluded by expressing the honor he feels in being invited to the White House, regardless of the circumstances. "It’s an honor to be invited to the White House under any circumstances," he remarked, highlighting the significance of such an invitation in the broader context of American political discourse.
