This revelation, as reported by the New York Post, appears to be a targeted action against Tesla drivers due to CEO Elon Musk's association with the Trump administration.
According to The Post Millennial, the website employs a Molotov cocktail image as its cursor and provides precise locations of Tesla dealerships. The operators of Dogequest have stated, as per a report from 404 Media, that they will only remove the personal data of Tesla owners if they can prove they have sold their vehicles.

The origins of the data used by Dogequest to identify Tesla owners are unclear. The website poses the question, "Is DOGEQUEST a protest platform?" and answers with a provocative statement: "If you’re on the hunt for a Tesla to unleash your artistic flair with a spray can, just step outside — no map needed! At DOGEQUEST, we believe in empowering creative expressions of protest that you can execute from the comfort of your own home." Furthermore, under a section titled "I want my information removed," the site claims, "Absolutely! Just provide us with proof that you’ve sold your Tesla."

The emergence of Dogequest coincides with a series of attacks on Tesla dealerships and vehicles. In Loveland, Colorado, a woman was recently arrested for allegedly hurling an incendiary device at a Tesla dealership. Similarly, in Oregon, two Tesla dealerships were targeted by gunfire, though fortunately, no injuries were reported. Owners of Tesla's Cybertruck have also faced harassment, including verbal insults and obscene gestures.
In addition to listing alleged Tesla owner data, the site reportedly maps out Tesla dealership locations and estimates the positions of the company's Supercharger stations. However, 404 Media discovered that while some dealership locations were accurate, discrepancies existed in others. Attempts to access Dogequest on Tuesday were unsuccessful following the publication of the 404 Media report.

The legal landscape surrounding doxing in the United States is complex, as there is no single federal law explicitly criminalizing the act. However, certain federal statutes may apply depending on the circumstances, as noted by the Post. Investigative reporters at 404 Media have confirmed that some individuals listed on the site do indeed own Teslas or have publicly expressed support for the company and Musk, though a comprehensive verification process is still in progress.

Meanwhile, weekly demonstrations dubbed "Tesla Takedown" persist across the nation, often resulting in vandalism of Tesla vehicles, charging stations, and dealership properties. This ongoing campaign against Tesla and its supporters raises questions about the boundaries of protest and the protection of personal privacy in the digital age.
