In a recent development, Attorney General Pam Bondi has expressed strong disapproval of a federal judge's decision to halt President Donald Trump's efforts to deport suspected members of the Venezuelan gang, Tren de Aragua (TdA), under the Alien Enemies Act of 1798.

Bondi criticized U.S. District Judge James Boasberg for his ruling, asserting that he had “supported Tren de Aragua terrorists over the safety of Americans.”

According to The Post Millennial, Bondi emphasized the potential risks posed by the judge's decision, stating, “TdA is represented by the ACLU. This order disregards well-established authority regarding President Trump’s power, and it puts the public and law enforcement at risk."

She further affirmed the Department of Justice's commitment to collaborating with the White House, the Department of Homeland Security, and other partners to address the situation and "Make America Safe Again."

Judge Boasberg's order temporarily halts the Trump administration's deportation of these Venezuelan migrants, pending a review of the legality of using the Alien Enemies Act. This decision also mandates the return of any aircraft transporting suspected TdA members out of the United States. President Trump had invoked the Alien Enemies Act as part of his campaign promise, aligning with the GOP's stance by initiating the removal of Venezuelan illegal immigrants associated with Tren de Aragua, which has been designated a Foreign Terrorist Organization.

In his proclamation, Trump declared, “I proclaim that all Venezuelan citizens 14 years of age or older who are members of TdA [Tren de Aragua], are within the United States, and are not actually naturalized or lawful permanent residents of the United States are liable to be apprehended, restrained, secured, and removed as Alien Enemies.”

This directive empowers Bondi and Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem to execute the deportations. The ruling by Judge Boasberg followed a lawsuit filed on behalf of five Venezuelan immigrants contesting the administration's actions.
