In a recent display of political tension, Texas Republican Representative Brandon Gill voiced a sentiment that resonates with many Americans who hold their country dear.

"America would be a better place if @IlhanMN were deported back to Somalia," Gill wrote on a social media platform, referring to Minnesota Representative Ilhan Omar, a member of the House's "Squad" known for its anti-American stance.

Omar, a Somali native, retorted, dismissing Gill's assertion as "stupid" and stating, "I had to crawl my way into Congress, and I think these idiots who buy their seats have no idea what a privilege it is to be a member of Congress and what it takes," as reported by Politico. The media outlet, funded by taxpayers, joined other corporate media entities in defending Omar, propagating the narrative that Gill's post was a call for Omar's deportation.

Gill's comments were in response to Omar's alleged involvement in a seminar advising Somali illegal immigrants on how to evade Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). In a video shared by Elon Musk, Omar is heard advising, "I advise the Somalian people that if ICE attempts to question you, you are not obligated to answer their questions. Just state that you are advised by a lawyer not to answer questions. Disclosure of your name, immigration status, and the mode of entry is not mandatory. Learn the laws and prepare yourself and refrain from disclosing information that you prefer them not to know."

Musk accused Omar of "breaking the law. Literally. Outright" in a social media post. Omar, however, claimed the video was edited and denied any wrongdoing.

In an interview with The Federalist, Gill expressed concern over Omar's actions, questioning her loyalty to the United States. "And her conduct and her rhetoric … she’s talked about being Somali first. She’s aiding and telling illegal aliens how to avoid our laws and our customs. That is utterly repugnant," Gill said. "Her behavior indicates that she is more … loyal to illegal aliens than she is to American citizens and to this country."

Gill, a sponsor of a bill that would codify President Trump's executive order limiting birthright citizenship, questioned the value of American citizenship. "We’ve allowed … in this instance, our legal immigration system to hand out citizenship to people who really have no business being here, who get an enormous amount of benefits from being in America — not only from their constitutionally protected rights here but also a enormous, oftentimes, welfare. And that’s a problem. … It does raise serious questions about our, about our immigration system. … This is something we should tackle over the next four years."

Omar's history of anti-American and antisemitic rhetoric is well-documented. She was removed from the House Foreign Affairs Committee due to her radical views, which include comparing Israel and the United States to Hamas and the Taliban, and dismissing the 9/11 terrorist attacks as "some people did something." Omar has also called for the dismantling of the U.S. economy, which she views as "oppressive," and has made anti-Semitic comments, such as suggesting a pro-Israel organization was buying off U.S. politicians. After public pressure, Omar apologized for these comments.

Gill's campaign recently circulated a petition calling for Omar's deportation, which was met with criticism from leftist outlets like Axios. The petition stated, "Friend, we should have never let Ilhan Omar into our country. And frankly, America would be a much better place if she were to be sent back to Somalia." It questioned Omar's loyalty to the U.S. and accused her of facilitating an invasion of the country.

While Gill acknowledged that Omar, despite her anti-American sentiments, is a naturalized U.S. citizen and cannot be deported, he did express concern over her comments about members of Congress buying their seats. This comes in light of recent revelations about the left's influence in American politics, which is largely funded by taxpayer subsidies.

Gill questioned the left's ideological movement, stating, "We do have to ask the question of where would the left’s ideological movement be were it not for the … billions, if not hundreds of billions of dollars, being funneled into left-wing media, leftwing NGOs, and other left-wing advocacy groups that are doing everything from facilitating open borders to censoring American citizens."

Gill's comments reflect a broader concern about the integrity of the U.S. immigration system. "If you think about — whether it’s Congresswoman Omar or anybody else who clearly doesn’t have sincere allegiance to this country, it really is a damning indictment of our legal immigration system that we would allow someone who hates this country, hates its heritage, hates the principles upon which it was founded, to come into this country to begin with," he said. This sentiment underscores the need for a thorough examination of the immigration system and its potential vulnerabilities.
