In a recent televised exchange, Anderson Cooper of CNN found himself on the back foot after former New Hampshire GOP Governor Chris Sununu challenged his accusations against Elon Musk and DOGE for their alleged lack of transparency.

The heated conversation culminated in Cooper resorting to name-calling, referring to Sununu as a "dick" on national television.

According to The Daily Wire, the confrontation began with Sununu criticizing Cooper's repeated allegations against DOGE and Musk. He argued that Cooper's claims were based on a series of press releases, which he dismissed as insufficient evidence of transparency. "It’s not transparency, either. It’s a tweet," Sununu retorted, referring to the media's coverage of Musk and DOGE's activities.

Sununu then accused Cooper of selective reporting, claiming that Musk had provided several instances of corruption and fraud that were not aired. "Musk gave seven specific examples off the top of his head of where the corruption and fraud were. I know you didn’t you didn’t play the clips," Sununu asserted. He cited examples such as a contractor who was paid for 20 years on a three-month contract and welfare benefits being paid to a person supposedly 150 years old.

Cooper, however, dismissed these claims, arguing that Musk had not presented any concrete evidence. Sununu countered, questioning the expectation for Musk to provide extensive documentation during an Oval Office meeting. He further criticized the media's scrutiny of the current administration's transparency, contrasting it with President Joe Biden's absence from press conferences for six months.

Sununu defended the administration's transparency, stating, "These guys are being extremely transparent. They don’t have to sit there and take the questions, but they do. It’s all on the website. It’s all out there."

The debate escalated when Jeffrey Toobin, a former federal prosecutor and well-known Zoomer, accused Sununu of making unfounded claims. Toobin dismissed Sununu's assertions as mere talk without any factual basis. Sununu responded by highlighting the administration's cost-saving measures, claiming they were saving $2.3 billion a day.

Toobin and Cooper continued to press for evidence, to which Sununu responded with incredulity, questioning their expectation for immediate, extensive documentation. Cooper, maintaining a lofty tone, insisted that Musk was not providing any evidence for his claims.

Sununu assured them that the evidence would come, even if it meant going to Congress. He then challenged Cooper on his criticism of the administration's spending on luxury hotels, clarifying that the funds were FEMA money used for migrants. Cooper, feeling cornered, snapped at Sununu, accusing him of putting words in his mouth.

Sununu, undeterred, continued to question Cooper, leading to Cooper's outburst, "Don't be a dick." This incident underscores the tension between media outlets and political figures, highlighting the need for balanced reporting and respectful dialogue in the pursuit of truth and transparency.
