CNN's Chief White House Correspondent, Kaitlan Collins, recently shared insights into the demanding nature of covering President Donald Trump's second term.

During an appearance on NBC's "Late Night with Seth Meyers," Collins revealed that the relentless pace of news surrounding Trump often led her to forgo breakfast and work through weekends. "It is insane," Collins remarked, reflecting on the frenetic environment that characterized Trump's presidency. She noted that many journalists were readjusting to the whirlwind pace reminiscent of Trump's previous term.

As reported by The Daily Wire, Collins contrasted the Trump administration's rapid-fire news cycle with that of his successor, former President Joe Biden. She recalled a New York Times article published shortly after Biden assumed office, highlighting the stark difference in the tempo of news coverage. "I remember when — when Biden first took office in January, The New York Times wrote this story about how quiet the weekends were," Collins recounted.

The article underscored the shift from a seven-day workweek under Trump to a more subdued schedule under Biden.

Collins shared a personal anecdote illustrating the unpredictability of covering Trump's White House. She recounted an instance when she planned to enjoy a leisurely breakfast before heading to work, only to be informed mid-journey of an impromptu press conference by Trump. "Halfway there, they were like, Trump’s doing a press conference in an hour, and I physically ran back home so I could change and get ready," she explained.

In stark contrast, Biden's presidency was marked by frequent vacations, with approximately 40% of his time in office spent away from the White House. This often left reporters with little to cover, as the administration's activities were notably less eventful.

The comparison between the two administrations highlights the distinct approaches to governance and media engagement, with Trump's tenure characterized by constant activity and Biden's by a more measured pace. This divergence in presidential styles underscores the broader debate over the role of media in shaping public perception and the impact of leadership on the national discourse.
