Harrison Butker, the All-Pro kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs, is as well-known for his faith as he is for his football prowess.

A graduate of Georgia Tech University, Butker transitioned from soccer to the National Football League (NFL) when he was drafted in the 7th round by the Carolina Panthers. His exceptional kicking skills have repeatedly proven instrumental in securing victories for the Chiefs.

However, according to RedState, Butker's fame extends beyond the football field. He made headlines when he was misquoted as saying he wanted women "in the kitchen." In reality, Butker had expressed his belief that motherhood was the most important job for a woman. Speaking at Benedictine College in Atchison, Kansas, he suggested that many of the women graduating that day were likely more excited about starting families than entering the workforce.

Butker also openly criticized then-President Joe Biden's stance on abortion, particularly given Biden's professed Roman Catholic faith. This sparked a backlash from liberal media outlets, especially when Butker accused some religious leaders of propagating harmful gender ideologies to America's youth. Despite the controversy, Butker's jersey sales skyrocketed, surpassing even his teammates Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce. This unexpected surge in popularity was attributed to supporters who shared his views.

The NFL distanced itself from Butker's comments, even as it endorsed the Black Lives Matter movement, an organization criticized by conservatives for damaging businesses and aligning with countries that oppress homosexuals, all under the banner of racial equality. Undeterred, Butker launched UPRIGHT PAC, aimed at motivating Christians to vote in favor of traditional values.

Butker remained steadfast in his convictions, stating, “I said what I said. I believe in it. I don’t feel the need to apologize for anything. I feel like God’s prepared me for that moment to feel confident in who I am and what’s most important in my life and I’m able to handle whatever comes my way.” His unapologetic faith and commitment to a righteous path have endeared him to many, and have been a guiding force in his journey to four Super Bowl appearances, three of which resulted in victories.

In his own words, "I’ve been here before. I understand once the game starts it’s just like any other game. I also feel like I can pace myself a little bit so I’m not playing the game (in my head) before it’s actually played. Thankfully, I’ve played in many of these games and I have those memories to go back on.”

For Harrison Butker, football is more than just a game. It is a platform from which he can unapologetically share his faith and traditional values, regardless of the challenges that come his way.
