Rogan addressed these accusations on his podcast, "The Joe Rogan Experience," asserting that his team did not mislead Harris's campaign about a potential appearance.
As reported by The New York Post, the book "Fight: Inside the Wildest Battle for the White House," authored by Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes, describes the frustrations of Harris's insiders with the booking process. The book claims that Harris's campaign arranged a Houston event with Beyoncé on October 25 to coincide with a possible Rogan interview in nearby Austin. However, they were later informed that the date was unavailable due to a personal day, which coincidentally was the same day Rogan interviewed Trump. Rogan dismissed these allegations, stating, "This whole idea that we screwed her over for Trump is just not true."

Rogan elaborated on the ease of booking Trump, noting, "Trump was super easy. We offered one day. He said, ‘Yes.’ That was it." In contrast, he claimed that Harris's team never fully committed to an interview. He also denied that Harris's team conducted a walk-through of his studio, emphasizing, "These people didn’t have a date. They never agreed to do the show."

The podcaster further explained that after Trump's appearance, Harris's team proposed an interview in Washington, DC, under strict conditions, including a limited duration and the presence of staff and a stenographer. Rogan found these stipulations unnecessary, pointing out that Trump had participated without any conditions. He remarked, "It was very controlled, and they were really concerned about the podcast not being edited."

Rogan suggested internal disagreements within Harris's team may have contributed to the situation, stating, "There were some people on her staff who were against her doing it. They thought it was bad optics because they’re a bunch of wokesters." He speculated that Harris's campaign regretted not participating after Trump's interview garnered 50 million views, saying, "I think then they thought, ‘What the hell? We should have done it’."

Rogan also mentioned having documentation of the discussions, asserting, "We have a whole list of conversations that took place." He criticized the book's authors for not reaching out to him for his perspective, noting, "They supposedly talked to 150 people about this, but they didn’t talk to us. That’s kind of crazy." The New York Post has reached out to former Harris campaign aides and the book's authors for comment.
