ESPN's Stephen A. Smith recently hinted at the possibility of running for President in the future, shortly after a poll indicated he garnered 2% of the vote—just behind Governor Tim Walz (D), who stands at 3% for the 2024 Vice Presidential nomination.

During a recent episode of his podcast, Smith expressed skepticism about entering the presidential race, citing his content life as a reason. Nevertheless, he remarked on the perceived weakness of the Democratic Party, suggesting it might prompt him to reconsider.

"I doubt I'll ever run. It’s not really me. My life is pretty good, and I don’t want to jeopardize that by getting into politics. But I can't ignore the fact that the Democratic Party looks so weak," Smith stated. "After this upcoming election, I might just entertain the idea."

Smith has voiced criticism towards Democratic leadership following the 2024 election and the loss of former Vice President Kamala Harris.

“I just might change my mind one day. I doubt it, but there's a thought. How hard would it be to outdo you all? And Trump can’t run again. He's finished,” Smith added.

Earlier this week, a poll conducted by McLaughlin & Associates showed that in a preliminary 2028 Democratic primary, Smith received 2% support from voters. In comparison, Harris was leading with 33%, followed by former Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg at 9%.
