In a recent episode of "CUOMO," NewsNation host Chris Cuomo took aim at Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, accusing her of hypocrisy during her interrogation of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the nominee for the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

The exchange occurred at Kennedy's confirmation hearing, where Warren pressed him to pledge against accepting any compensation from lawsuits against pharmaceutical companies during his potential tenure and for four years thereafter. Cuomo criticized Warren's line of questioning, suggesting that her own history should disqualify her from such scrutiny.

According to the Daily Caller, Cuomo highlighted Warren's financial growth while in office and her controversial claims of Native American heritage as factors that undermine her credibility. "There have been questions about her, how much money she was worth when she came in. Now she’s worth a lot more. How’d that happen? How’d that happen?" Cuomo remarked. He recalled Warren's initial introduction to the national stage during the 2008 financial crisis, where she was perceived as a fair broker concerning bailouts and financial programs like TARP and TALF. However, Cuomo argued that Warren has since become entrenched in political gamesmanship. "But now she’s just playing the game," he asserted.

Cuomo questioned Warren's indignation towards Kennedy, pointing out her own history of "fudging on a position that actually mattered." He played a series of clips illustrating Warren's past claims about her Native American ancestry, including a 2012 statement and a subsequent 2019 apology. Warren has acknowledged identifying as a minority in an Association of American Law Schools directory from 1986 to 1994, though she maintains it was not for career advancement. In December 2018, she conceded, "I am not a person of color," after a DNA test revealed a Native American ancestor several generations back.

Cuomo criticized Warren's exaggeration of her heritage, referencing President Donald Trump's derogatory nickname for her, "Pocahontas," while acknowledging the crassness of the remark. "She was exaggerating. I got high cheekbones too. I’m not Indian," Cuomo commented. He argued that Warren's actions exemplify political maneuvering, stating, "It’s called politics, let alone in this high dudgeon. Have some shame. But of course she won’t. Why? Because, there’s no shame in the game."

Cuomo concluded by reflecting on the broader implications of Warren's behavior, suggesting that political energy is often misdirected towards superficial issues. "The senator was going for her moment and guess what, I just gave to her. I just hope the moment stands for what we need less of," he said. "Energy is being spent on the wrong things, because it’s what they’ve been rewarded for." This critique underscores a conservative perspective that emphasizes accountability and integrity in public service, advocating for a focus on substantive issues over political theatrics.
