The operation, conducted early Tuesday, saw Noem alongside heavily armed federal agents targeting a criminal alien accused of kidnapping, assault, and burglary.

According to Sean Hannity, Noem, 53, documented her involvement by sharing images of herself clad in a protective ICE vest as she joined officers from various federal agencies in the Bronx. "Live this AM from NYC. I’m on it," she declared, emphasizing her commitment to the mission. Noem further stated, "We are doing this right – doing exactly what President @realDonaldTrump promised the American people – making our streets safe." Her social media posts included images from the briefing and a video capturing the arrests.

The New York Post reports that federal agents have been actively apprehending criminal migrants in sanctuary cities across the nation since President Trump took office, under the supervision of border czar Tom Homan. Cities such as Chicago, Seattle, Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles, and New Orleans have been focal points in the effort to deport lawbreakers. Homan, speaking on ABC News, cautioned that all individuals in the country illegally are potential targets for deportation. "You’re going to see the numbers steadily increase, the number of arrests nationwide, as we open up the aperture," he explained, noting the current focus on public safety and national security threats.

Kristi Noem's appointment as DHS Secretary was officiated by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas over the weekend, marking a new chapter in the administration's immigration enforcement strategy.
