The Trump administration is actively executing its stringent immigration enforcement strategy, a key promise from the campaign trail, by deporting hundreds of illegal migrants from the United States each day.

On Thursday alone, authorities apprehended 538 illegal migrant criminals, with deportation flights already in motion using military aircraft, as confirmed by a spokesperson for the Trump administration. Among those detained are a suspected terrorist, four members of the notorious Venezuelan prison gang Tren de Aragua, and several individuals convicted of sex crimes against children.

According to the Daily Caller, White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt took to X to declare, “The largest massive deportation operation in history is well underway. Promises made. Promises kept.” Border czar Tom Homan, speaking to NewsNation, revealed that the administration has so far apprehended 1,300 migrants, with over 1,000 possessing criminal records. In addition, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has issued 373 detainer requests, urging local law enforcement to detain migrants until ICE agents can take custody.

President Donald Trump, immediately upon assuming office, signed an executive order declaring a national emergency at the U.S.-Mexico border. This move allowed the administration to allocate additional resources to tackle the immigration crisis, which had escalated under the previous administration. Following this order, the White House has deployed troops to the southern border, and the Department of Defense has utilized military aircraft to facilitate deportation operations.

In a bid to enhance the effectiveness of ICE agents, the administration has removed restrictions on enforcement activities in so-called sensitive locations, such as schools and hospitals. Furthermore, the expedited removal policy, which permits immigration officials to swiftly deport illegal migrants without the need for immigration court proceedings, has been expanded from within 100 miles of an international border to encompass the entire country.

To bolster ICE's mission, the administration has extended immigration enforcement authority to agents within the Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Marshals Service, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), and the Federal Bureau of Prisons. This expansion aims to fortify the administration's ambitious deportation agenda.

The White House is also addressing potential obstacles posed by sanctuary jurisdictions. The Department of Justice has established the Sanctuary Cities Enforcement Working Group, a task force dedicated to identifying state and local laws or policies that conflict with federal immigration initiatives and challenging them in court when necessary. Tom Homan emphasized the administration's resolve, stating, “They’ll be taken to court real soon. They’ve already been warned that federal law overrides any local jurisdiction law so this is going to be played out in the courts.”

As the Trump administration continues to implement its hardline immigration policies, it remains focused on empowering federal law enforcement agencies and dismantling any legal barriers that may impede its efforts. The administration's actions underscore its commitment to fulfilling campaign promises and addressing the immigration challenges facing the nation.
