Behar had labeled Underwood as "un-American" for her decision to perform at the inauguration ceremony of President-elect Donald Trump.
According to Fox News, Behar had expressed her disapproval of Underwood's move during a recent episode of "The View." She questioned how Underwood could profess her love for the country while simultaneously supporting and normalizing a "convicted felon" who, in Behar's words, aims to "destroy the country."

"I don’t understand how you say you love your country at the same time that you normalize this convicted felon," Behar stated.

Hasselbeck, in response, criticized Behar and "The View" for their apparent lack of balanced perspectives. She accused the show of "refusing to put people around their discussion table with a lick of sense most days."
"When those comments got passed around, even Whoopi Goldberg couldn't agree with the outlandish remark of Joy Behar," Hasselbeck revealed during an interview on "Hannity."

Hasselbeck went on to defend Underwood's patriotic credentials, dismissing Behar's claims as "ridiculous." She highlighted Underwood's history of pro-American actions, including her victory on "American Idol," her album and tour titled "All-American Girl," and her extensive involvement in USO tours.

"She wants us to believe that [about] Carrie Underwood, who won ‘American Idol’ by American votes, who had an album and tour called All-American Girl, who actually has spent more time on USO tours, serving and helping and donating money to our nation's finest, our military, their families and our veterans – is about to perform ‘America the Beautiful’ at the historic event of the inauguration of the President of the United States of America," Hasselbeck said.

She further suggested that Behar's comments were merely a ploy for "selfish publicity gain" by associating herself with Underwood. Hasselbeck argued that Behar's "dysmorphic lie" needed to be dispelled.
"That's what we're doing tonight. We're actually being truth bearers, because what we know to be true is that it's actually more un-American to call someone un-American for exercising their American rights," Hasselbeck asserted.

Hasselbeck also questioned the implications of Behar's statements, asking, "Is every person that shows up on Inauguration Day, from security to custodial staff, un-American? Is that what Joy is saying?"
She further refuted Behar's claims of supporting strong, working women, arguing that Behar should be supporting Underwood, whom she described as a "great, great woman." Hasselbeck suggested that Behar could benefit from "surrounding herself with people who don't always hold the same beliefs."

"Joy, if she were as strong as she was, she could learn," Hasselbeck added.
When asked about her plans to attend President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration, Hasselbeck encouraged those who had the opportunity to do so, describing it as a "historic event."
