In an audacious act of theft, unidentified perpetrators absconded with three Humvees and a cache of other military equipment from an Army Reserve center in Tustin, a city in the Los Angeles metropolitan area, earlier this week.

The incident occurred under the cover of darkness, with the culprits gaining access to the center's warehouse and making off with the equipment.

As reported by The Post Millennial, the theft took place between 8pm and 11:30pm on Wednesday night. The criminals managed to remove locks from several storage lockers within the warehouse, pilfering a variety of military equipment. The stolen items included an armored Humvee Model M1151A1, two cloth-door Humvee Model M1097s, eight machine gun vehicle mounts, seven machine gun tripods, medical supplies, 40 pairs of binoculars, and 18 bayonets. The Army, at this point, is not aware of any additional items missing from the reserve center. The thieves reportedly cut through a fence to gain access to the military parking lot, from where they drove away with the Humvees at an unspecified time.

This incident comes at a time when California is grappling with devastating wildfires, a situation that has unfortunately been exploited by looters. Law enforcement agencies have reported arresting at least 20 individuals for looting, with reports of dozens more prowling the LA area on electric scooters, targeting homes for burglary.

Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna expressed his disappointment at the situation during a briefing. "It's always sad when I have to say this, but part of our responsibility is to make sure nobody loots or steals from our community members who are already being impacted," Luna said. "I'm sad to report, we've made two arrests this morning for looting already. So if you are thinking about coming into any of these areas to steal from our residents, I'm going to tell you something. You're going to be caught, you're going to be arrested, and you're going to be prosecuted."
