The drone was found approximately six miles off the coast of a small island in the Masbate province, as per a statement from the Philippines National Police.
As reported by The Business Insider, the device, which was handed over to the Philippines Navy for further inspection, is a yellow, torpedo-shaped object with fins, marked "HY-119." The police used this label to determine that the drone was likely used for communication and navigation purposes. The location of the discovery was within the internal waters of the Philippines, a considerable distance from the open sea.
