In a surprising move, Representative Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) has become the first Democrat to join the Congressional DOGE Caucus, an organization spearheaded by Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy.

The caucus aims to streamline government processes and reduce unnecessary federal spending and regulations.

As reported by The Post Millennial, Moskowitz expressed his commitment to the caucus's objectives, stating, "Today, I will join the Congressional DOGE Caucus, because I believe that streamlining government processes and reducing ineffective government spending should not be a partisan issue. I've been clear that there are ways we can reorganize our government to make it work better for the American people."

Moskowitz further emphasized the need for restructuring within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), arguing, "Specifically, the Department of Homeland Security, while very necessary, has gotten too big. The Caucus should look at the bureaucracy that DHS has become and include recommendations to make Secret Service and FEMA independent federal agencies with a direct report to the White House. It's not practical to have 22 agencies under this one department. I look forward to working in a bipartisan manner with my colleagues to remove FEMA and Secret Service from DHS."

The DOGE Caucus, initially launched by Representatives Aaron Bean (R-FL) and Pete Sessions (R-TX), has been hailed as a vehicle to "reduce waste, fraud, and abuse in the federal government." Moskowitz's decision to join the caucus aligns with his recent portrayal as a moderate during the election cycle.

In a lighter vein, Moskowitz humorously supported the idea proposed by Trump appointee Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to replace high-fructose corn syrup with cane sugar in Coca-Cola, quipping, “If the plan is to make all Coke, Mexican Coke, I’m in.” He also applauded Trump’s nomination of Elise Stefanik for US Ambassador to the United Nations, further demonstrating his willingness to cross party lines for the benefit of the American people.
