However, she also expressed her commitment to support other migrant groups residing in her state.
During a press conference in Queens, Hochul was questioned about the deportations President-elect Donald Trump has pledged to carry out once he assumes office. Hochul responded by affirming her commitment to law enforcement, stating, "If someone breaks the law, I’ll be the first one to call up ICE and say, 'Get them out of here.'" She further emphasized her stance against criminal illegal immigrants, saying, "There are other people who commit crimes or are known to be criminals before they arrived here. When those are identified, I'll be the first one to help get rid of them. I don't want them here. I don't want anybody terrorizing my citizens."

However, as reported by The Blaze, Hochul's stance softened when discussing other migrant groups residing in New York. She acknowledged the "difference in categories of individuals" and expressed her intent to assist those granted Temporary Protected Status and those seeking asylum. "I want them to get the proper work permits. I want them to keep their temporary protective status if that’s what they have. I want to make sure that they’re part of — contributing to society while they’re here. That’s separate from people who are criminals," she explained.
Hochul's comments sparked a wave of reactions among New York activists and Democrats. Murad Awawdeh, president and CEO of the New York Immigration Coalition, urged Hochul not to participate in Trump's "dangerous games," calling for strong leadership from Albany to protect immigrant communities.
TRUMP'S FAMILY CIRCLE LOOKS DIFFERENT THIS TIME AROUND!
In contrast, Assembly member Catalina Cruz, identified by City & State New York as a "formerly undocumented" immigrant, defended Hochul, asserting that the governor is indeed a friend to illegal immigrants, or as Cruz referred to them, "law-abiding undocumented Americans." Cruz stated, "Given the work my office has done with this administration, I have no doubt that these statements lacked context and dimension. I know that she will remain dedicated to advancing the goal of assisting those individuals and families that have come to New York with hopes and dreams of a better life for themselves and their families."
GAVIN NEWSOM IS UP AGAINST A VERY BLOODY FIGHT!
Over the past few years, approximately 200,000 so-called "asylum-seekers" have relocated to New York. As of July, City & State New York reported that as many as 875,000 total "unauthorized" persons may be residing in the state. While the Institution on Taxation and Economic Policy claims that these "undocumented" immigrants contribute to the state's economy, there is no mention of the billions of taxpayer dollars expended on their housing and sustenance. This raises questions about the economic balance and the sustainability of the current immigration policy.
