The conversation took a dramatic turn as panelists expressed their concerns over Patel's potential leadership of the agency.
According to Gateway Pundit, Hayes Brown, a contributor to the network, likened Patel's potential leadership to a fusion of Alex Jones and J. Edgar Hoover. Brown asserted, “Kash Patel as FBI director would be like if you crossed Alex Jones with J. Edgar Hoover in terms of just how much he would want to ignore precedent and the constraints that have been put on the FBI over the years.”
Brown further expressed his apprehension about Patel's potential influence, stating, “With all of the conspiracy theorizing, all of the eagerness to fan the flames of the worst instincts of President Trump, put into power, those two things should never mix. Kash Patel has a vote, and he is a couple of votes away from that happening once he is put before the Senate.”

April Ryan of The Grio also voiced her concerns, particularly about Patel's stance on the events of January 6. Patel, who was then serving as the chief of staff to acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller, has publicly stated that D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser was responsible for the delay in deploying the National Guard, not Trump.

Ryan passionately argued, “For all Americans, we saw it on television. It wasn’t a bunch of people going for a tour of the Capitol. It wasn’t a picnic where they were skipping along holding hands. They were peeing on statues, defecating on things, and doing things that caused harm or potentially could have hurt one of the Hill lawmakers there.”

She further questioned Patel's suitability for the role of FBI director, given the agency's mission to uphold the Constitution and protect American citizens from crimes against U.S. laws. Ryan asked, “Where does all of this fit in with January 6th?”

Ryan continued her critique by stating, “January 6th is the juxtaposition of the Constitution. Many think it was treasonous.” She further expressed her concern about Patel's nomination, saying, “And for him to be one of the conspirators, this has now left the court of public opinion.”

Ryan concluded by highlighting the potential influence of public opinion on Patel's nomination, drawing a parallel with the case of Matt Gaetz. She stated, “The court of public opinion pushed Matt Gaetz to say ‘Look, I don’t want to be a distraction.’ The question is, will this be along that same line? Making Kash Patel a distraction for Donald Trump.”

The debate over Patel's nomination underscores the ongoing tension between conservative and liberal viewpoints. As the nation awaits the Senate's decision, the public's role in shaping the narrative around Patel's potential leadership of the FBI remains a critical factor.
