In a surprising turn of events, President-elect Trump and JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon have been engaging in clandestine discussions regarding the policy agenda for Trump's forthcoming term in the Oval Office.

This revelation was brought to light by FOX Business correspondent Charlie Gasparino.

According to Fox Business, these covert conversations have been ongoing for several months, with Dimon acting as a trusted advisor to the President-elect. The discussions have revolved around key policy areas such as the reduction of government spending, tax policy, trade, and banking regulations. The report, initially published in The New York Post, even suggested that Trump has a high level of admiration for Dimon, a sentiment echoed by sources close to the transition team.

However, neither JPMorgan nor the Trump transition team has responded to requests for comment on these reports. This news emerges a fortnight after Trump publicly announced that Dimon, a billionaire at the helm of the nation's largest bank, would not be part of his upcoming administration. This announcement quashed speculation that Dimon might be selected as Treasury Secretary.

"I respect Jamie Dimon, of JPMorgan Chase, greatly, but he will not be invited to be a part of the Trump Administration," Trump declared on his Truth Social platform. "I thank Jamie for his outstanding service to our Country!" Subsequently, Trump revealed his choice for Treasury Secretary to be Key Square founder Scott Bessent.

Despite his respect for Dimon, Trump has not shied away from criticizing him in the past, labeling him a "Highly overrated Globalist" on his Truth Social platform. Interestingly, Trump had previously considered Dimon for the Treasury Secretary role, a consideration he later retracted.

Dimon, on his part, has had a complex relationship with Trump. He denounced the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol by Trump supporters, but also recently lauded some of Trump's positions and policies. "Take a step back, be honest. He was kind of right about NATO, kind of right on immigration. He grew the economy quite well. Trade tax reform worked. He was right about some of China," Dimon told CNBC earlier this year. "He wasn't wrong about some of these critical issues."

These comments were reportedly well-received by Trump. However, Dimon refrained from endorsing a candidate in this year's presidential election, maintaining a neutral stance in the political arena.
